Summary:

Tricking is an informal name for an alternative martial art style that combines gymnastics with martial art movements. Tricking incorporates kicks from taekwondo, wushu styled butterfly-twists, and complicated flips that are found in arts such as capoeira. Movements are highly stylized, which makes this an extremely unique form of martial art. It is not a self-defense system by any means. Its whole purpose is to showcase the tricker’s athletic ability in the most eye-catching way possible. It has become a mainstay in stunt work for on-screen sequences. Some might consider it a form of gymnastics, especially when it is accompanied by music.
